The
unsung heroes and heroines of the Greater Houston hospitality
industry are about to get their share of the spot light. Two cornerstones of the hospitality industry will host an
evening that recognizes and awards the outstanding men and women
whose hard work and dedication to excellence have made a
difference.
The
University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and
Restaurant Management and The Hotel & Lodging Association of
Greater Houston (HLAGH) invite you to an evening of dinner and
dancing as we honor excellence in the hospitality industry, College
Faculty and Alumni. Hospitality on Parade is planned for
Friday, November 13, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Americas ~
Houston which is located at 1600 Lamar in downtown Houston.
Black tie is optional.
Tickets
for this evening are $100 with tables for ten for $1,000.
Special sponsorships are also available.
The
University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and
Restaurant Management and The Hotel & Lodging Association of
Greater Houston (HLAGH) continue a partnership that dates back
forty years by hosting the Fifth annual Hospitality on
Parade Awards Celebration. The event will recognize 10 men
and women whose day-to-day contributions give hospitality its
meaning as well as special faculty and alumni who contribute so
much to the industry’s future.
Proceeds
from the event benefit programs and services of the Association,
and the Hilton College Alumni Board Endowed Scholarship.
This scholarship benefits students interested in
pursuing studies in the hospitality field. Industry
leaders from throughout the Greater Houston area and the State
are expected to be on hand for the awards

Service
Award ~ Awarded
to one person from the Front Office, Concierge, Bell Service or
Reservations who continually goes far beyond expectations in
providing for hotel guests.
Operations Award
~
Awarded
to one person from Housekeeping, Engineering, Security/Loss Prevention,
Human Resources, Sales, Administration or Accounting whose job dedication
is particularly meritorious.
Food & Beverage Award
~ Awarded
to one person from Food & Beverage, including Kitchen, Restaurant,
Room Service, Convention Services and Banquets, for outstanding
job service.
Allied Partner Award
~
This award is
given to an allied member of HLAGH that has made a significant
contribution to the Houston lodging industry and to their
individual lodging customers. Key considerations include
volunteer work with HLAGH; membership development; and
participation in the Association community
Houston
Spirit Award
~
Awarded
to a hotel, business or individual for charitable acts which have
left a profound and recognizable mark on the community.
