Hurricane Harvey Resources

The Disaster Assistance Improvement Program (DAIP):

DAIP provides a consolidated online portal for both residents and businesses impacted by Hurricane Harvey, including information, support, services, and a means to access and apply for disaster assistance.  This is an important first step in the recovery process.  Visit https://www.disasterassistance.gov or call 800-621-3362 between 8am-10pm CT

Emergency Shelters:

If you are in immediate need of shelter and are unable to locate accommodations, please visit the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org or http://harrisrecovery.org/four-red-cross-shelters-announced/.

Finding A Hotel Room That Participates in the FEMA Assistance Program:

Individuals impacted by the disaster must register with FEMA via www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362, and complete a disaster assistance application form.   You will need to present your FEMA registration number when checking-in.  If you have a pending application, please reach out to FEMA to determine when your benefits will be approved.

If you have already received your FEMA registration number and have been approved to participate in the Transitional Shelter Program, a list of the participating hotels is available at www.femaevachotels.com.  We recommend that you contact the hotels directly to determine their availability as it changes on a frequent basis.  Make sure that you are able to provide the hotel with FEMA registration number along with your room requirements.

How A Hotel Can Participate in the Emergency Lodging Assistance Program:

Hotels are strongly encouraged to participate in the Emergency Lodging Assistance (ELA) program, which is being handled by Corporate Lodging Consultants.  This program allows hotels to seek direct payment for room night cost and taxes for displaced residents but does not cover non room night costs such as incidentals or other items.

  • For more information on the program and how to sign up your hotel, please visit: https://ela.corplodging.com/.
  • Please note that not every guest is eligible for the lodging assistance program. If a guest has questions regarding the program or their eligibility, they should call 800-621-3362.
  • Hoteliers with questions about the program can call 866-545-9865. Staff is available Monday thru Friday from 8am – 9pm CT.
  • Remember to have eligible guests provide a government approved photo identification as well as complete the program’s terms and conditions form upon check-in. The completed form along with a copy of the guest’s identification must be retained for a minimum of two years.
  • Check each eligible guest into CLC’s ELA (Emergency Lodging Assistance) system as soon as you issue them a room. Delay in checking the guest in through the ELA system could result in billing issues or delays.
