TAX IMPACT Travel spending in the greater Houston area generated over $248 Million in local taxes for municipalities and counties.

INDUSTRY REVENUE IMPACT With over 26.2 million available room nights, over 14 million rooms were sold, translating into 56.0% occupancy in the year 2010. The impact of visitors on the local economy was $10.6 Million which includes the following expenditures: Accommodations - $1.6 Billion Retail Sales - $1.5 Billion Food & Beverage - $2.4 Million Air & Ground Transportation - $3.9 Million Recreation - $1.2 Million EMPLOYMENT IMPACT Over 54,700 individuals are employed in a variety of positions, including full & part-time jobs, in the hospitality industry in the Greater Houston Area.
