National Account Executive – Consumer Sales

The ideal candidate for the National Account Executive – Consumer Sales position possesses strong networking abilities, a track record of success in consumer events and conferences, and a strong sales approach. The responsibilities of the National Account Executive are promoting and increasing occupancy of the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) as a premier facility through contracting consumer shows, conferences, tradeshows, sporting events, and other public-ticketed events. Productivity and overall success will be evaluated through facility and ancillary revenues against established metrics defined by management.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prospect new accounts and manage existing business opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with internal facility partners and key stakeholders throughout the overall sales process
  • Prepare comprehensive facility proposals addressing meeting specifications to include, but are not limited to, exhibit and meeting space, hotel inventory, and all other relative event requirements
  • Administer license agreements and amendments correlating with mutually agreed proposals
  • Review and advise clients of facility policies and regulations in accordance with license agreement
  • Update relevant information in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems while ensuring all documentation is noted timely and appropriately
  • Maintain facility revenue projections and provide updated forecasts as requested by management
  • Facilitate necessary internal communication from initial contract to event settlement
  • Assist with pre-event facility license fee deposit and post event invoice collections
  • Strategically solicit business that aligns with identified need time periods
  • Support and facilitate adjusting previously contracted business to accommodate significant new business opportunities
  • Other duties and special projects as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s in business-related studies
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of facility or special event venue sales or similar industry experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent sales techniques, networking skills and proven track record as well as effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to make effective written and oral presentations in a public setting
  • Must be proficient, with working knowledge of Windows, Office 365 Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar software
